As previously reported on Weducon.com, we recently introduced a single-sided sheet cleaner for integration into the press infeed. This new cleaning system, developed on request of flexo press manufacturer Celmacch, improves printing results to such an extent that we now offer it as standard optimization for flexo and digital printing presses.
The Corrucleaner single-sided sheet cleaning system is based on our proven cleaning concept and complements our established web cleaning program for dust-free production. This program delivers significant benefits, such as clean products, a safe production environment, increased productivity and significant cost savings.
Cleaning the substrate before printing
Weducon’s single-sided sheet cleaning system removes contamination from the substrate right before it is fed into the printing press. Although many manufacturers already apply web cleaning to eliminate contamination during manufacturing, several processes follow after production, such as stacking and transport. These processes again generate dust and fibers which build up on the substrate.
When these particles enter the printing press during sheet transport, they contaminate the first printing unit quickly. For printers, this causes problems such as contaminated ink, imperfections in the printed image (donuts, hickeys, bullseyes). Ultimately, this results in production loss or complaints. A simple and sufficient way to avoid these problems is to clean the substrate before it enters the printing press.
Single-sided cleaning
Because single-sided printing uses a vacuum system to transport the substrate, only cleaning the printable side of the substrate is possible at this stage. Therefore, we implement our single-sided sheet cleaning system before the first printing unit. Here it performs a final cleaning – contactless and without slowing the feeding process.

The single-sided sheet cleaning system consists of a cleaner, ionization, a self-cleaning filter, and optionally integrated or autonomous control. Like our web cleaning systems, the single-sided sheet cleaner typically requires minimal modifications to existing equipment.
By preparing the installation process to the last detail, your new cleaning system can run within most routine maintenance stops.
