At Viallon Emballage’s site in Saint-Just-Malmont, France, Weducon recently installed a single-sided Corrucleaner sheet cleaning system in the infeed section of a Koenig & Bauer | Celmacch High Tech Chroma 2100 flexo press. This corrugated printing press dust extraction upgrade aims at improving quality and reducing downtime.
Corrugated printing press dust extraction – why?
Viallon Packaging processes and prints single-wall and heavy-duty double-wall corrugated board. These demanding substrates naturally contain many fibers and attract contamination, making effective dust extraction essential.
The Corrucleaner system removes dust and microparticles immediately prior to printing. This ensures clean sheet surfaces, ensuring optimum print quality and minimal contamination in the printing press. Especially for high-quality food and wine packaging, surface cleanliness is crucial.
By automatically removing dust and contamination from the substrate right before printing, the system boosts print quality and cuts the number of cleaning breaks and production stops. It also lowers the need for restarts — helping reduce set-up waste (ink, substrate).
High-efficiency filtration and full automation
Viallons flexo press dust removal system includes a high-efficiency AFS-190 filter unit with reverse-jet cleaning. The system is fully automated and synchronized with the Celmacch press control panel.
Clean results, minimal footprint
The Corrucleaner is seamlessly integrated into the existing press line and delivers immediate results.
Thanks to careful preparation, we completed the installation, including filter unit and ducting in one day, without changing the press or production layout. The system takes up minimal space but has maximum impact.
All operations – start/stop, cleaning cycles, system status – are performed through the Celmacch interface. Press operators do not have to lift a finger, while production performance increases from day one.
